Supporting psychologically healthy clinicians and teams

Dr. Kovacs’ successful academic career and clinical psychology experience combine to offer a unique approach to consultation focused on the psychological health of clinicians, including physicians, nurses, and other health professionals. She has first-hand experience with the expectations, demands, and challenges of health care, including academic medicine.

Health care organizations face increasing challenges with clinician burnout, emotional well-being, and retention. A survey of 4,000 Canadian physicians revealed that 53% reported high levels of burnout and 46% were contemplating reducing their clinical workload.

Change is essential now. It is time to move beyond awareness and dialogue toward action and implementation. Dr. Kovacs is enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with health care leaders and organizations ready to take concrete steps to improving the psychological well-being of clinicians and health care teams.
